About Ekwulobia Multipurpose Cooperative Society Ltd

Ekwulobia Multipurpose Cooperative Society Ltd was founded in 2018 by Amaechi Herbert Ezeokoye, Chairman EPA Abuja (2016 – 2023), to encourage in our members, the spirit and practice or thrift, mutual and self-help by providing commercial facilities for regular thrift savings and loans, extensive agricultural enterprises, Life policy as well as severance package.

Nine reasons why we meet

to familiarise with our brothers, spinsters and our wives
as a body, we can pull our resources and ideas together to help one another whenever the need arises
for social interactive bonding
as it is said, “iron sharpens iron”, we meet to build ourselves capacity wise and learn from one another
for information sharing as knowledge is power
to know how we are faring individually and collectively
to socialise and relate with other meeting bodies in our LGA and our state in general
to join hands to maintain peace and order in Ekwulobia
to be good ambassadors of EBETEGHETE in Abuja

Registration

The society was registered under CAP: NO 98 of the Nigerian Cooperative Societies ACT 2004, with No. 27008, dated 12^th April 2008.

Management Committee

Tenure of office

Section 6(2)a – “The tenure of office for a Management Committee member, at a position, shall be for a maximum period of four (4) years. Two (2) years of two terms only.”

Election of Management Committee members

For the purpose of electing the management committee members sections 5(6) c & d of the society’s Bye Laws empower the President to put forward a special resolution which shall be passed by not less than three forth of the votes cast by shareholder members of the Society.

Removal of Management Committee members

Section 7(2)f – “The Supervisory committee shall, upon receiving written petitions from shareholders, equal or more in number to two-thirds of the shareholder members, have the power to recommend the suspension of any management committee member, in the case of fraud and misappropriation of the society’s funds, to the office of the Chief Registrar of Cooperatives for proper action.”

Pioneer Management Committee

We are eternally grateful to the pioneer President, David Aniagboso and Secretary General, Basil Ezenwafor, for their tireless efforts, which led to the registration of the cooperative society with the office of the FCT Director of Cooperative and opening of the society’s first bank account.

Current Management

The current management led by President, Stephen Anolue has been able to grow the society’s Share Capital to ₦702,500.00, and the total Assets base to ₦2,625,553.90 as at 5th September 2026.
